A New Auto Update Experience

The new Auto Updater allows WHMDC installations to be updated directly from the admin area, removing the need for manual downloads and file replacements. The update process is guided through a clear, step-by-step wizard designed to reduce risk and improve visibility.

Before any update begins, administrators are advised to take a full backup of files and the database. A system preflight check then analyses the installation, identifying any customised core files and additional files that are not part of the official release. This ensures users know exactly what will be overwritten before proceeding.

Safe, Controlled Updates

The updater uses a manifest-based verification system to compare installed files against the official release, helping protect customised environments. Critical paths such as configuration files, environment settings, uploads, and backups are automatically excluded from being overwritten.
